Albert Junior Siegrist, 85 years, of Keokuk, Iowa died at 1:00 pm Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa. He was born May 14, 1928 at Lomax, Illinois, a son of Albert Carl and Mildred (Logan) Siegrist. On November 14, 1951, he married Ruth Marie Yurth at Fort Madison, Iowa.
For years he worked in the warehouse and later did inside sales for Wilkens Pipe and Supply in Keokuk, Iowa. Prior to that he worked a period of time at Sheaffer Pen Company and also operated Hudson Oil in Alexandria, Missouri. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fort Madison, Iowa. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Marie Siegrist, of Keokuk, Iowa; one son, Steven (wife Laura) Siegrist, of Warsaw, Illinois; three daughters: Lynn (husband Bob) Dorothy, of Keokuk, Iowa; Kim (husband Jay) Schneeberger, of Clinton, Iowa; and Stephanie (husband Kirk) Cameron, of Hamilton, Illinois; one brother, Donald Siegrist, of Niota, Illinois; one sister, Kathleen (husband Donald) Helling, of Mt. Hamill, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one grandson, and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison where the family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Thursday afternoon. A funeral service will follow and be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Mix, officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. Memorial contributions have been established for Seventh Day Adventist Church. Contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
