Obituary

Alberta Leah Wooldridge, 95 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 5:20 am Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. She was born January 27, 1915 at Marceline, Illinois, a daughter of John and Mabel (Miller) Wilson. On January 25, 1941, she married Thomas Charles Wooldridge, Jr. at Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death July 6, 1998.

Mrs. Wooldridge spent most of her life in the Fort Madison area. She first worked at Kresege's in Quincy and then in Fort Madison. Later she worked as cashier and bookkeeper for Woolworth's. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and was known for her quilting and cooking.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane (husband John Steven) Busard, of West Point, Iowa; three granddaughters: Jennifer Busard, of Burlington, Iowa; Stacey (husband Marco) Alvarez, of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Kara (husband Damon) Dalton, of Kahoka, Missouri; four great grandchildren: Kaylee Alvarez, Kelsea Busard, Kortnee Alvarez, and Dakota Dalton; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Quincy, Il. area. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Claude Wilson, and four sisters: Merle Naderhoff, Maude Wilson, Lucille Bozarth, and Fern Brink.

Her family will greet friends from 9:30 - 10:30 am Wednesday May 26, 2010 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 am at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point, with Reverend Dean Graber, officiating. Burial will be at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, 412 Ave C, P.O. Box 247, West Point, Iowa 52626.
