Almeda Jane Mansheim, 88 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Montrose Health Center, Montrose, Iowa. She was born December 28, 1927 at Shilder, Oklahoma, a daughter of William Nelson and Mary Ann (Donaldson) Parrott. She married Nathan Bennett. He preceded her in death. She later married Robert Mansheim. He also preceded her in death.
She has been a resident of Fort Madison, Iowa most of her life. She worked for a time at W.A. Sheaffer Pen, Sylvania in Burlington for 17 years and was a nurses aide for 20 years. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. She was of the Christian Faith.
She is survived by one son, Dr. Brian (wife Joanie) Bennett, DPM, of North Augusta, South Carolina.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one sister, Betty Holyfield and four brothers: Verle Parrott, Charles Parrott, Gene Parrott, and Carl Parrott.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial has been established for the PAWS animal Shelter, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
