Antonio Valdivia Estrada Sr., 84 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 7:34 pm Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born January 17, 1929 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Lino and Altagracia (Valdivia) Estrada. On February 4, 1956 at Fort Madison, Iowa he married Evelyn Eleanor Estrada. She preceded him in death.
He was a lifelong resident of Fort Madison. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and served during the Korean War. He worked 37 years at Mason and Hanger (IAAP). He loved his church and was a member of Harvest Bible Fellowship. When he was younger he enjoyed bowling, SAFE aerobics, gardening and cooking. Later he spent his time staying in touch with family and friends on Facebook.
He is survived by three sons: Antonio (wife Lisa) Estrada Jr, Fulton, Missouri; Richard Estrada, of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Douglas Estrada, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two daughters, Rosita "Rosie" (husband Kenny) Eid, of Wever, Iowa and Sharon "Diane" (husband Richard) Bollin, of Donnellson, Iowa; one brother Matthew (wife Amelia) Estrada, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Sally Estrada, of Fort Madison, Iowa and Frances Becerril, of Fort Madison, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter Kimberly Estrada, grandson Raymond Eid, granddaughter Noelle Boss, one son Gary Estrada Sr., one brother, three sisters, and several half siblings.
His family will meet friends from 3:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Harvest Bible Fellowship, with Reverend Jon Heyland officiating. Burial will follow at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa . A memorial has been established, and contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa or at the church on the day of the service.
