Barbara Wedel, 66 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 10:07 pm Sunday, August 7, 2016 at her home. She was born December 9, 1949 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Dossie M. and Leta M. (Mitten) Stinnett. On March 15, 1969, she married Michael Wedel. He survives.

Barbara was a 1968 graduate of Fort Madison High School. She and her husband, Mike, owned and operated The Gallery in Fort Madison for approximately 10 years. She later worked at Movies America, Mr. Movies, and finally Shopko. She was a Christian. She enjoyed her flower gardens, and was an artist who did painting and drawing. She loved her dogs, and adopted many through the years.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Wedel, of Fort Madison; two sisters, Linda Clatt, of Fort Madison and Michele (Bruce) Weisinger, of Marion, Iowa; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends 1:30 - 2:30 pm Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A memorial service will follow and begin at 2:30 pm Thursday August 11, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Bill Willis officiating. A memorial has been established for PAWS, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
