Bertha Margaret "Bertie" Fedler, 92 years, of West Point, Iowa died at 5:30 pm Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Donnellson Health Center, Donnellson, Iowa. She was born July 7, 1921 in rural Henry County, Iowa, a daughter of Conrad and Elizabeth (Rotter) Kruse. On October 1, 1947, she married Louis Fedler in West Point. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1999.

Mrs. Fedler was a homemaker, seamstress, and gardener. She also helped picked fruit at Faeth's Orchards and was a bookkeeper for her husband's gas delivery business. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Fort Madison Women's bowling association, and was a 4-H Club leader. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidered, and bowled up till she was 85.

She is survived by one son, Howard Fedler, of West Point, Iowa; one daughter, Vickie (husband Gary) Sanders, of West Point, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Jane Fedler, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one brother, Cletus Kruse, of West Point, Iowa; three sisters: Darlene Hellweg, of Donnellson, Iowa; Florence Menke, of St. Paul, Iowa; and Glorine Hellweg, of Fairfield, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Ashley, Steve, Brad, Pam, Rod, and Kim; 12 great grandchildren: Logan, Anaka, Mya, Kaleb, Ella, Dante, Lauren, Mason, Bianca, Olivia, Damion, and Cade; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Conrad Fedler; one grandson, Doug Sanders; three brothers: Ernie Kruse, Richard Kruse, and Adrian Kruse; and two sisters, Marie Meierotto and Kathryn Meierotto.

Friends may call after 2:00 pm Friday, February14, 2014 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, 412 Ave C, West Point, Iowa, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:30 pm. The family will greet friends from 5:30 - 6:30 pm Friday evening at the funeral home, with a Christian Wake Service to be held at 6:30 pm Friday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point, Iowa, with Reverend Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, West Point, Iowa. A memorial has been established for St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church and Donnellson Health Center, contributions may be made at the church or the Barr- Holtkamp Funeral Home, 412 Ave C, P.O.
