Betty Elaine Schenk, 76, of Montrose, Iowa, passed away on November 5, 2025. She was born on October 14, 1949, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to Robert "Bob" and Dorothy Bolster. Betty married Allen Pierce, and together they raised two sons, James and Michael. Though life took them in different directions, Betty and Allen remained close throughout their lives. Their bond endured through every chapter, and Allen lovingly stayed by her side in her final days. Betty later married Michael Schenk. She is survived by her son Michael (Michelle) Pierce; granddaughter Cassi (Parker Fields); and great-grandchildren Isabella, Odin, and Charlotte. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son James Pierce; her husband Michael Schenk; her sisters Mary, Helen, Rose, and Pearl; her brothers Leroy, Jerry, and Larry; and her parents, Dorothy and Bob, along with many other very loved family members and friends. Betty will be remembered for her generous heart and her unwavering desire to help others. She had a nurturing spirit and found joy in caring for those around her—whether family, friends, or neighbors in need. Her kindness and compassion touched everyone who knew her. A visitation with family will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2193 Old Denmark Road, Fort Madison, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately after at Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Iowa. A luncheon will follow the burial at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fort Madison.
