Obituary

Bonnie Jean Morrison, 94 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the Birkwood Village, Fort Madison, Iowa.  She was born February 17, 1930 at Bethel, Missouri, a daughter of Stanley and Hessie (Daniel) Peak.  On October 13, 1951, she married Dennis Morrison at Fort Madison, Iowa.  He preceded her in death.

She worked a total of 32 years at Sheaffer Pen, and then another 10 years at the Richardson Elementary School as the "lunch lady."  She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels.  She was a member of the Fort Madison United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Decker, of Fort Madison, Iowa, one sister, Linda (Floyd) Wieland of Rolla, Missouri; one grandson, Matthew Decker (Kristina Gesualdo and her son Sebastian); nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Sharon Morrison, one brother Richard Peak, one sister Doris Nelson, sisters and brothers-in-law and two nephews.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated.  Family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.  A Memorial Service will follow at 10:30 am Monday morning at the Barr Memorial Chapel with Nancy St. Clair officiating.  A private family burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  A memorial has been established for PAWS Animal Shelter and Lee County Hospice, contributions may be left at Barr Memorial Chapel.
