Carl Pope, 89 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 7:02 pm Sunday December 20, 2015 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born May 5, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama, a son of Willie and Emma Lou (Pressley) Pope. On April 14, 1951, he married Hazel Williams. She survives.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He worked for Dial Corporation for 45 years, retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Pope of Fort Madison, Iowa; two daughters, Janet Cooper of California and Annie Williams of New York; one brother, Ralph Pope Sr. of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

His family will greet friends for a memorial viewing from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Additional services and burial will be held in Omaha, Nebraska.
