Carol Myrtle Munford 79 years, of West Point, Iowa died at 9:03 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center of Van Buren, Keosauqua, Iowa. She was born November 5, 1934 at Raritan, Illinois, a daughter of Willis James and Pearl Emily (Peterson) McIntyre. In June 1968, she married Jim Munford in Farmington, Iowa. He preceded her in death October 10, 1987.

Carol lived in West Point, Iowa from 1971 until 2010. She worked at Sonny's Super Market in West Point in the 1970's and 1980's, and then at the West Point Care Center in the 1990's and 2000's. Carol enjoyed golf with her family, traveling with Ron, the Chicago Bulls, dancing & country music. She loved the town and the people of West Point and especially her dog, Oscar Meyer.

She is survived by her son, Tim Munford, of Waukee, Iowa; daughter, Linda Knotts, of Holland, Michigan; one sister: Jane Walkowski, of Soap Lake, Washington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and companion Ron Fransen, of Keosauqua, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Donald Kelly and Tex McIntyre, and one sister, Edith Avery.

Her family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point, Iowa. A private committal service and burial will at the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington, Iowa at a later date. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point.
