Carol Diane Reyes, 58 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 2:36 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. She was born December 9, 1955 at Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter of Ronald and Rovene (Walker) Cochran. On December 21, 2005, she married, Jesse B Reyes at Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.

Carol was a 1974 graduate of Fort Madison High School. She attended Southeastern Community College and Western Illinois University. She was a homemaker, but also worked at various jobs in the area. She was a member of the First Christian, Church Disciples of Christ. She was a sports fan, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals. When she was younger, she was a talented artist. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. Carol was a private and caring person, her husband and family were the core of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse B. Reyes of Fort Madison, Iowa; her parents, Ronald and Rovene Cochran of Fort Madison, Iowa; one daughter, Shannon (Dave) Dannen of Raleigh, North Carolina; one brother, Robert (Marie) Cochran of Fort Madison, Iowa; four sisters-in-law: Jill (Dennis) Pirri of Fort Madison, Iowa; Grace Ramos of Dayton, Ohio; Caroline Gastelum of Fort Madison, Iowa; Lisa (Dago) Borjas of Fort Madison, Iowa; two grandchildren, Kyleigh and Brodie Dannen; four nieces, two nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dog, Nakita. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one brother, Michael Cochran I.

Her family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. A funeral service will follow and be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the funeral home, with Reverend John Simpson, officiating. Her body will be cremated following the service. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Claypoole Cemetery, Wever, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
