Cecelia Mary Houston, 93 years, of Denmark, Iowa died at 11:30 pm Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the West Point Care Center, West Point, Iowa. She was born June 6, 1923 near Sawyer, Iowa, a daughter of Gustav and Wilhelmina (Kramer) Buechel. On October 8, 1947, she married Gerald Houston at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death June 8, 2010.

Cecelia and her husband, Gerald, raised their family on their farm near Denmark. She was a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren. Before her family, she worked at Sheaffer Pen for a period of time. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Fort Madison, Iowa.

She is survived by her two sons: Jeff (wife Paula) Houston and Rex (wife Jennifer) Houston, both of Fort Madison, Iowa; two daughters: Carol (husband Bob) Peitz, of Houghton, Iowa and Linda (husband Larry) Menke, of West Point, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Carol Houston, of Fort Madison, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Jerry Houston, one brother and seven sisters.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Rev. David Wilkening as Celebrant. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish and West Point Care Center, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
