Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Allan Zuber , 76 years, of Ocala Florida died peacefully in his home January 12, 2015 after a brief illness from lung cancer. He was born July 23, 1938 in Rock Island, Illinois to Alexander A. and Victoria L. (Hrdina) Zuber. He was a 1956 graduate of Fort Madison High School and was a graduate of the University of Iowa.

Surrounding him at the time of death were his four children: Tammy Kennedy, Cheryl (Jay) Brownfield, Alan (Grant) Zuber, Kristi (Stephen) Dryden and his beloved dog, Gracie, his constant companion. He is also survived by his two stepchildren, Cathy (Gary) Morrison and Gary (Jackie) Hill; eleven loved grandchildren, and his sister Charlotte (Jim) Barr. Also surviving are nephew Thomas (Deanna) Barr, and nieces Carolyn Krone, Kathy (Andy) Meardon, and Margaret (Pete) Eicher. He and his wife, Barbara, whom he married August 7, 1981 in Lee Summit, Missouri, owned and operated a Dairy Queen in the Kansas City area for many years. They retired to Ocala, Florida. His resilient spirit and ability to enjoy any gathering large or small will make him greatly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one granddaughter, Nicole.

Per his wishes there will be no service. He will be placed with wife, Barbara, who proceeded him in death eleven months ago in St. Joseph, Missouri. A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association, contributions may be sent to the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison.
