Charlotte E. Parsons, 79 years, of Donnellson, Iowa died at 11:18 pm Wednesday July 6, 2016 at her home. She was born November 25, 1936 at Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Howard H. and Marjorie Ethel (Barker) Bassett. On July 2, 1955, she married Dale W. Parsons at Cleveland, Ohio. Charlotte and Dale moved to the area in 1973. She prepared taxes for Tax-Smiths for more than 20 years. She later opened and operated the Cottage Café for nearly 10 years, and then was the poker room supervisor for Catfish Bend Casino for years before her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Parsons, of Donnellson, Iowa; two sons, Daniel (Katie Anderson) Parsons, of Donnellson, Iowa and Douglas (Holly) Parsons, of Columbia, Missouri; one daughter, Linda (Tom) Mullen, of Keokuk, Iowa; one brother, Raymond Bassett, of Sandusky, Ohio; one sister, Lois Summerlin, of Mantua, Ohio; five grandchildren: Casey Mullen, Brandy Stoll, Brandon Parsons, Abby Parsons, and Connor Parsons; and one great grandson, Daceyn Price. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ralph.

Per her wishes her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends from 4:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services. A graveside service and burial will be at 1:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2016 at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
