Clarence B. Estrada Sr. was born February 27, 1927 at Fort Madison, Iowa a son of Lino and Altagracia (Tapia) Estrada. On March 5, 1948 at Fort Madison he married Mary Galvan. She preceded him in death November 5, 1990. He was a life-long resident of Fort Madison and was a machine operator, retired from the Fruehauf Corporation. He enjoyed fishing, walking, and spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist Faith. He made time daily for prayer and reading his bible.
At 83 years of age, he died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at his home in Fort Madison, Iowa. He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (friend Dave Mitchell)Patino and Rachel (husband Salvador) Gonzales, both of Burlington, Iowa; four sons: Clarence B. (wife Denise) Estrada, Jr., of Keokuk, Iowa; Raymond (fiancee Yen "Kim" Quach) Estrada, of Marion, Iowa; Daniel (wife Patricia) Estrada, of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Robert Estrada, of Houston, Texas; two brothers: Matthew (wife Amelia) Estrada and Antonio (wife Evelyn) Estrada, both of Fort Madison, Iowa; five sisters: Esperanza Reyes, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Monica (husband Elpidio) Becerril, of San Bernadino, California; Vera (husband Jesse) Reyes, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Sally Estrada, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Frances Garcia, of Fort Madison, Iowa; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Margaret Thomas and one sister, Micaela Munoz.
Family will greet friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm Thursday June 24, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 pm Thursday June 24, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Homer Brooks, officiating. Private family burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
