Cynthia E. "Cyndie" Campbell, 58 years, formerly of Fort Madison went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2015. She was born June 15, 1957 in Fort Madison, a daughter of James E. and Ina (Matthews) Carrell.
Survived by her husband, Garry Campbell of North Little Rock, AR, daughters Crystal (Britt) Newton; Renee (Regan) Ridgeway; Jaime (John) Blamey and Brandy (Russell) Hisken. She is survived locally by her sister Sara Jan (Vince) Garza, nieces Sierra Garza and Tina Smith, nephews Rusty (Devan) Andrews and Christopher (Amy) Garza and brother in law Andy (Sue) Andrews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Jimmye Carrell Andrews and a longtime childhood caregiver, Inez Wilt.
Cyndie graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1975 and went on to receive an Associates Degree from Butler Community College in Wichita, Kan.; a Bachelor of Accounting from Friends University in Wichita, Kan.; and a Masters of Business from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
During her time in Fort Madison, she worked at Spurgeons Department Store and Armour Dial. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Methodist Youth Fellowship. Also while in Fort Madison, she was active in Jaycee-Ettes, Jaycee Women, Soroptimist, and the Charlie Korschgen 4th of July Kiddie Parade.
Cyndie spent 30 years in the accounting profession, and recently retired from Wilson & Associates, PLLC in Little Rock. She was very active in fundraising and community service. She enjoyed reading, painting, crafts, and playing with her grandchildren, but her greatest accomplishment was her family.
Services and burial were held in Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Lane Van officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Fort Madison Police Department Camera Fund or the North Lee County Historical Society.
