Dale H. Scott, 92 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 11:21 pm Saturday, May 26, 2018 at SunnyBrook of Fort Madison. Dale was born July 22, 1925 in Lomax, Illinois, a son of Walter H. and Grace (Nixon) Scott. On June 29, 1946, he married Betty Lou Eaves in Fort Madison, Iowa. Dale and Betty first lived in Lomax, Illinois before moving to Fort Madison in 1965. They were members and founders of the Grace Bible Church, Dallas City, Illinois. Dale was a veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1944 - 1946 with the 63 rd Artillery Division in Germany and France during World War II. Dale worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, Dupont and JI Case Company, where he retired after 30 years of service. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, Nascar, and socalizing. He was also a horseman, animal lover, and a patriot, however before all else he was a Christian-man of God.
He is survived by six daughters: Carolyn (Roger) Thompson, of Sciota, Illinois; Annette (Clinton) Tucker, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Janet (Mike) Gregory, of Donnellson, Iowa; Robin (Tom) Doty, of Dixon, Missouri; Yvonne (Tom) Tucker, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Eugenia Carter, of Elk River, Minnesota; one son, Mark Scott Sr., of Fort Madison; he was guardian to his granddaughter, Lucia (Mike) Wilcher, of Davenport, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Scott, one brother Vance Scott, three sisters: Marjorie Workman, Mary Jean Webster, and Dorothy Wilson; one granddaughter Crystal Carter and one great granddaughter Halley Horn.
Family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Grace Bible Church, Dallas City, Illinois. Funeral services will follow and begin at 11:00 am at the Grace Bible Church with Reverend Jim Luder officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for Wounded Warrior or Grace Bible Church, contributions may be made at the church or at Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
