Debra Sue Burke, 55 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa,
died unexpectedly at 9:45 pm Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. She was born November 18, 1955 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Bernard Barnes and Marian (Gee) Auge Barnes.
Deb was a lifelong resident of Fort Madison. She was a 1973 graduate of Fort Madison High School. She worked for Ppg Industries for the past 11 years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, shopping, arranging flowers, garage sales, and decorating her Christmas tree. She loved spending time with her family.
She was survived by two daughters, Brenda (Justin) Zaugg, of Washington, Iowa and Lindsay Burke, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Joe (Stacy) Burke, of Washington, Iowa; one brother, Gary (Kathy) Auge, of Lake Wales, Florida; four grandchildren: Cheyenne, Kylan, Trista, and Kellton; nieces, nephews and a cousin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Barnes.
Her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends from 9:00 - 10:00 am Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Linda Foor, officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa.
A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
