Dennis Edward Meierotto, 48 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Thursday, September 6, 2012. He was born July 22, 1964 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Alvin and Mary Margaret "Margie" (Coster) Meierotto. He married Patti McKeown, they had three children.

Dennis was a 1982 graduate of the Fort Madison High School. He worked for many years as a supervisor at I.S.C. in Burlington. He also was a truck driver and worked construction. He was of the Catholic faith. He liked hunting, grilling, playing basketball, and hunting mushrooms.

He is survived by Patti Meierotto, of Wever, Iowa; his parents, Alvin and Margie Meierotto, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Joshua Meierotto, of Wever, Iowa; two daughters, Lindsey Meierotto, of Wever, Iowa and Kayla Meierotto (fiancé Tyler Horner),of Wever, Iowa; four brothers: Daniel Meierotto, of Wever, Iowa; Brian (wife Barbara) Meierotto, of Montrose, Iowa; Patrick Meierotto, of Marion, Iowa; and James (wife Susan) Meierotto, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Deborah Mapes, of Montrose, Iowa and Carol (husband Gary) Glasgow, of West Point, Iowa; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one nephew.

His body has been cremated. His family will greet friends from 4:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, in Fort Madison, Iowa, Father Mark P. Spring as Celebrant. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions maybe made at the Barr Memorial or at the church on the day of services.
