Doris Marie Beimer was born November 26, 1921 at Sigourney, Iowa a daughter of Wilbur and Florence (Gregg) Malin. On May 29, 1940, she married Richard Beimer at Oskaloosa, Iowa. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines, and the "swimmin' women". She attended the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family and friends, and solving challenging crossword puzzles.

At 88 years of age, she died at 10:38 pm Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. She is survived by three daughters: Kathy (husband Tom) Heffernan, of Williamsburg, VA; Sue Nelson, of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Debi Beimer, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sons: Mike (wife Julie) Beimer, of Mt. Vernon, Iowa and Brian (wife Peggy) Beimer, of Plano, Texas; one brother, Floyd Malin, of California; 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Melissa Auwaerter, and three grandchildren, Robin Christopher Beimer, Dale Lynn Beimer, and Beverly Hope Beimer.

Friends may call after 1:00 pm Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison where the family will meet friends from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Reverend John Simpson, officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
