Doris Mary Stinnett, 87 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 11:28 pm Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the West Point Care Center, West Point, Iowa. She was born October 22, 1924 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Harry Cleveland and Chloe Alma (Renoad) Stinnett.

She was a lifelong resident of the Fort Madison area. She worked for 47 years at Sheaffer Pen Company. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed reading, her flower gardens, and her cat, Metsie.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and two infant siblings.

Family will greet friends from 9:30 - 10:30 am Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Rev. David Hitch, officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the Fort Madison Public Library, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
