Dorothy E. Morton, 91 years, of rural Fort Madison, Iowa, died at 5:24 am Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Donnellson Health Center, Donnellson, Iowa. She was born November 17, 1920 at West Point, Iowa, a daughter of Rudolph C. and Ruby (Stiefel) Mecklenburg. On May 31, 1941, she married Craig Morton at Denmark, Iowa.
He preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a 1938 graduate of Denmark Academy. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary at Steel Craft and IAAP. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Burlington, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She is survived by 3 sons: Harley (wife Janet) Morton, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Kevin (wife Carolyn) Morton, of Clyde, Ohio; and Russell (wife Vicki) Morton, of Lancaster, Missouri; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, and three brothers: Milton, Robert, and Norman.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Graveside services and burial will occur at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery, rural Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
