Douglas James Erickson, 88 years, of Fox River Grove, Illinois passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Kensington, Fort Madison, Iowa.  He was born May 29, 1936 at Chicago, Illinois, a son of John M. and Dorothy (Hinkley) Erickson of LaGrange Park, Illinois.  He graduated from LaGrange Township High School with the class of 1954.  He graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor's of Arts in Business and Journalism in 1959.

He married Nancy Henriksen and raised a family.  He later married Mavis A. Steigerwald.

Douglas is survived by his three children: Kristi (Jay) Schroeder, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Karl (Sue) Erickson, of Oakwood Hills, Illinois and David Erickson, of Chicago, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Winfield Erickson and Lowell Erickson and one sister, Marcia Meidling.

Cremation has been entrusted to Barr Memorial Chapel, who is honored to serve the Erickson Family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.   A Celebration of Life and memories will be held at Lake Barrington, Illinois at a later date.
