Obituary

Frank Onel Lowery, 89 years, of Fort Madison, died at 5:35 pm Friday July 29, 2011 at the Kensington. He was born May 13, 1922 at Farmington, Iowa, a son of Frank and Buelah (Peckstein) Lowery. On December 1, 1945 he married Ila "Jackie" Jackson at Carthage, Illinois. He spent most of his life in Fort Madison. He was a 1940 graduate of Fort Madison High. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He worked his entire career at Sheaffer Pen Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Elks, and Claypoole Masonic Lodge #13, A.F & A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Ila "Jackie" Lowery, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Randall (wife Marilu) Lowery, of Mt. Prospect, Illinois; one brother, Douglas (wife Sally) Lowery, of South Carolina; two granddaughter: Erin (husband David) Haberkorn, of Chicago, Illinois and Kelly (husband Daniel) Lawlor, of Chicago, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Lowery and Bernard Lowery.

Friends may call after 1:00 pm Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, where the family will meet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Monday evening. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 pm at the funeral home Monday evening. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Reverend John Simpson, officiating. Burial will be at the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Iowa. Full military rites conducted by the Fort Madison Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
