The family of Gary Francis will host an event in the shelter at Shopton Park in Fort Madison on Sunday, September 3 for remembering Gary. There will be a light lunch at noon and at 1 pm there will be a time to share our memories.

Gary Lynn Francis, 75 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa and formerly of Burlington, Iowa died Friday, June 16, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.  He was born January 31, 1948 in Fort Madison, a son of Floyd and Thelma (Gunn) Francis.  In 1967, he graduated from Fort Madison High School.  He also attended the University of Iowa, where he studied engineering. Gary was a veteran of the United States Army.  He worked in management at Borax in Burlington.  He attended Joy Baptist Church, Fort Madison.

Gary is survived by two siblings, Janis Linquist of Des Moines, Iowa and Dennis (Beverly) Francis of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; seven nieces and nephews, and other family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, and one nephew.
