Gary Burl Townsley, 64 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home. He was born October 9, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Betty Jo Wrather. She preceded him in death.

Gary was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He loved music, hunting, and his dog, Butch. He worked as a concrete finisher.

On May 30, 2015, he married Saundra Lobberecht. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Amber Lynne Lay, of St. Louis; two sisters, Patty and Liz Hoskins, both of Quincy, Illinois; and three nephews.

His body has been cremated. Services will be held at a later date.
