Obituary

George C. "Pokey" Brown, 52 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 5:18 am Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born July 30, 1963 at Steubenville, Ohio, a son of George and Charlotta (Grant) Brown. Pokey moved to Fort Madison in 1980. He worked construction. He was a Pirates and Steelers fan. He loved Elvis Presley and was an Elvis impersonator.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, George and Beverly Brown, of Fort Madison; one son, George C. "JR" Brown (girlfriend Tarma Bradley), of Preston, Iowa; two daughters, Dorothy "Dottie" (Robert) Ham, of Ocala, Florida and Jami Lee Richards, of Weirton, West Virginia; one brother, Joseph Brown, of Fort Madison, Iowa; three sisters: Kim (Bryan) Morehouse, of Fort Madison; Susie (John) Frey, of Toronto, Ohio; and Sherry (Johnathon) Sherell, of Steubenville, Ohio; his girlfriend, Julie Vowels, of Fort Madison; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, and one brother.

His body has been cremated. Services and burial will be held at a later date. Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
