Gerald Wayne "Andy" Anderson, 77 years, of Wever, Iowa died at 4:47 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born January 8, 1939 at his home in Wever, a son of Mark and Emily (Patterson) Anderson. His parents later divorced, and he was raised by his mother and step-father, Emily and Gene Stotlar. On June 25, 1960, he married Carolyn Wyrick at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Madison, Iowa.
He attended high school at the Denmark Academy, Denmark. He did production work at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 42 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ. He loved trapping, hunting, and fishing. He and Carolyn enjoyed traveling for years.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Anderson, of Wever, Iowa; one son Bill (Gina) Anderson, of Wever, Iowa; one daughter Jolisa (Clem) Krogmeier, of West Point, Iowa; three brothers: Raymond (Sharon) Stotlar, of Wever, Iowa; Roy (Karen) Stotlar, of Burlington, Iowa; and Robert (Martha) Stotlar, of Burlington, Iowa; three sisters: Frances (Mike) Rodefer, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Ruth (Grant) McDowell, of Burlington, Iowa; and Dorothy (Jeff) Kramer, of Wever, Iowa; three grandchildren: Emily (Robert) Roe, Minnesota; Kyle and Kevin Krogmeier, of West Point, Iowa; two great grandsons, Landon and Connor; his step-mother Emily Peel, of Denmark, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Mark, mother Emily and step-father Gene; twin grandchildren, Mark and Miranda Krogmeier.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison with Pastor Chad Savage, officiating. Burial will be at Claypoole Cemetery, Wever, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
