Harold Eugene Wilson, Sr., 76 years, of Montrose, Iowa died at 7:15 am Friday February 20, 2015 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital. He was born May 7, 1938 at Littleton, Illinois to Arthur and Alta (Snyder) Wilson. On July 27, 1957 he married Yvonne Ried. She preceded him in death September 16, 2001. Harold was a 1956 graduate of the Fort Madison High School. He was an Aircraft Radio Repairman in the United States Air Force from 1956 - 1962. He retired from I.E. Dupont Company in 1993 after 20 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, his dogs, chickens and poultry, going to auctions, hunting and the outdoors. Survivors are one son, Harold (wife Patty) Wilson, Jr., of Montrose; 3 daughters: Louive (Emery Bunting) Wilson, of Pulaski, Iowa; Louise (Michael) Rooney, of Montrose; and Kay (Richard) Wallace, of Montrose; 2 brothers: Gerald (wife Karen) Wilson and Leon (wife Frannie) Wilson, both of Fort Madison; 2 sisters: Juanita Sawyer and Billie (David) Mosher, both of Fort Madison; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Raymond Wilson. Visitation will begin 1:30 pm Monday February 23, 2015 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison where the family will meet friends from 5 - 7 pm Monday evening. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday February 24, 2015 at the Barr Memorial Chapel. Pastor Goldie Laymon will officiate. Burial with military rites will be at the Montrose Cemetery. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services.
