Hazel Eileen Harper, 94 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Saturday, December 10, 2022 at The Madison in Fort Madison. She was born September 21, 1928 at Stockport, Iowa, a daughter of Cleo and Mamie (Wilson) Watson. On December 8, 1945, she married Harry "Jay" Harper at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.

She was a graduate of Stockport High School. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Jay and Eileen's Locker and Grocery in Hillsboro from 1957 - 1970. She was also a homemaker and her family always came first. She enjoyed to traveling and crafts.

Eileen is survived by her daughters-in-law, Carol Harper of Fort Madison and Judy Harper of Rochester, Minnesota; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Merlin and Ronald, one sister, Helen Syfert, and two brothers, Melvin Watson and Virgil Watson.

Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. Her funeral service will follow and begin at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery, rural Stockport, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
