Helen Irene Goehl, 75 years, of Montrose, Iowa died at 10:41 am Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa. She was born July 27, 1937 at Springfield, Illinois a daughter of LeRoy and Bessie (Williams) Sparks. On November 5, 1955, she married William Robert Goehl at Quincy, Illinois.

She moved to Montrose area in 1969 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Montrose. She loved crafts, reading, movies, camping, fishing, but most especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by five daughters: Katheryn Goehl, of Montrose, Iowa; Martha "Marty" Daggs, of Keokuk, Iowa; Lillian Starks, of Montrose, Iowa; Brenda Salyers, of Keokuk, Iowa; and Linda Schneider, of Montrose, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren; a nephew and niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister.

Her body has been cremated. No formal services are planned at this time. A memorial has been established, and contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
