Hoyt Floyd Grossman, 33 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died in an automobile accident Monday afternoon, May 29, 2017 near Sawyer, Iowa. He was born April 20, 1984 in Burlington, Iowa,
a son of Randy Floyd and Tamara Ann (Painter) Grossman. On August 11, 2012, he married Theresa Thuleen.
Hoyt was a 2002 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He worked at Siemens for the past 3 years. He was active in sports. He played football, basketball, baseball, golf, and was the MMA heavy weight champion at the Fight Factory. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Chicago Bulls. He loved being an uncle to Henry and Calysi. He enjoyed life and had fun...there was never a dull moment!
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Grossman, of Fort Madison; his parents, Randy and Tamara Grossman, of Fort Madison; one daughter, Brianna Hull, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother, Wylie R (Candice) Grossman, of Fort Madison; his mother-in-law, Sue Thuleen, of Fort Madison; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Painter, of Wever, Iowa; two aunts, Nancy Anderson and Terri Ough; one uncle, Tim Painter; two great uncles, Clarence "Babe" Grossman and Cy Painter; one niece, Calysi; one nephew, Henry; many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Ruth Grossman and Robert Painter.
Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. His family will greet friends from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (noon) Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. His family will continue to celebrate his life with a private burial at the Denmark Cemetery, Denmark, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
