Ina Melva Hayes, 79 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 10:50 am Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. She was born December 15, 1934 at New Boston, Iowa, a daughter of Frank Owen and Grace Charlotte (Hamilton) Tory. On December 20, 1952, she married Richard L. Hayes at Fort Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death September 24, 2008.

Ina was a 1952 graduate of the Fort Madison High School and lived most of her life in Fort Madison. She was a homemaker. For 14 years, she was the receptionist and bookkeeper for Dr. Peck and Peck Vision Center of Fort Madison. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Fort Madison. She was a past member Princess Circle of the King's Daughters. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. In her later years, she enjoyed RV traveling with her friend, Jack Jones.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela (husband William) Hunold, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sons: Donald (wife Linda) Hayes, of Warsaw, Illinois, Iowa; George (wife April) Hayes, of Fort Madison, Iowa; five brothers: Leslie Tory, of Florida; Lester Tory, of California; Bryce (wife Elaine) Tory, of California; Doyle (wife Loretta) Tory, of Texas; Wilbur (wife Dim) Tory, of Arizona; one sister, Carol Hoffman, of Arizona; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her friend, Jack Jones, of Farmington, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three sisters: infant Joyce Tory, Nancy Sanson and Iris Beall.

Her body has been cremated. A Time to Celebrate the lives of Ina and Richard Hayes is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the First Christian Church, Fort Madison, with Reverend John Simpson, officiating. A memorial has been established Lee County Hospice, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
