Jack Lee Reubart, 76 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 9:59 pm Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. Jack was born September 10, 1935 in Decatur, Illinois, a son of Carl William and Genieve Jewel (Hallihan) Reubart. On January 8, 1977, he married Nancy S. Elam in Taylorville, Illinois.
Jack lived in the Gladbrook, Iowa area from 1981 to 1997, he then moved to Fort Madison, Iowa. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. While in the Navy he was a baker and later after his military time he worked as a chef. He was of the Lutheran Faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0668 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #671.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy S. Reubart, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Norma Jean Hatch, of California; one grandson, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Charles W. Reubart, and one step-daughter, Cindy Louise Brockel Forrest.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 6:30 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa, with Reverend Homer Brooks, officiating. A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
