James Michael Carson, 33 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa passed away Friday August 31, 2012 at his home. He was born February 16, 1979 at Iowa City, Iowa, a son of Michael Carson and Sandra Kay (Mansheim) Carson.

He was attending Southeastern Community College. James enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards and video games, taking gadgets apart and putting them back together. He loved being an uncle and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his mother, Sandra Carson, of Fort Madison, Iowa; his father, Michael Carson, of Denmark, Iowa; one brother, Adam P. Carson , of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Carrie Carson, of Fort Madison, Iowa and Augusta Carson, of Fort Madison, Iowa; aunts and uncles: Joyce Stewart, of Denmark, Iowa; Patrick (wife Cindy) Carson, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Tony Mansheim, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Cheryl Harker, of Quincy, Illinois; Michael Hernandez, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Richard Hernandez, of Fort Madison, Iowa; a special aunt, Traci Burgund and many other aunts and uncles; one niece, Hannah Carson; two nephews, Caleb and Logan Carson; and several cousins, including special cousins, Tara Vincent and John Stewart. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kit and Lu Carson; maternal grandparents, Mary Lou and Paul Mansheim and one aunt, Alice Moore.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday September 5, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Bill Willis officiating.
