James Lane Judy, 72 years, of West Point, Iowa died at 7:43 a.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his home. He was born September 9, 1941 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Clemens and Cecelia (Fullenkamp) Judy. On June 25, 1961, he married Janice Mary Freesmeier at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point, Iowa.
He graduated from St. Mary's High School, West Point. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard, and was a farmer and a boiler operator. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Angus Association.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Nancy (Dan) Kempker, of Donnellson, Iowa and Diane (Jerry) Polk, of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Thomas (Molly) Judy, of Billings, Montana; one sister; seven grandchildren: Alicia McFall, Stacy and Rachel Kempker; Lane, Lex, Lute and Lydia Judy. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Brian Judy, and one granddaughter, Amy Kempker.
A Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point, Iowa with Reverend Dennis Hoffman as Celebrant. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, West Point, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the Holy Trinity Catholic Schools, contributions may be made at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home or at the church on the day of the service.
