Janice Sue James , 53 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 8:45 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. She was born October 16, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri to Dallas Alton and Rebecca Sue (Goodman) Bishop.
She was a 1980 graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton Ill. She married Kevin James. They had two children, Joshua Wayne James (Nichole Cable) and Kayla Diane James. They divorced. She then married Sandra Kay Hart on July 9, 1994. She worked as a CNA and in security. She was an avid pool player. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her father, Dallas Bishop, of St. Louis, Missouri; her wife, Sandra Hart, of Florida; one son, Joshua James, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one daughter, Kayla James, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Karen Bishop of Keokuk, Iowa and Jenny Harmon (Mike) of Hamilton, Illinois; two brothers, Dan Hubbard (Michelle) of Columbia Missouri and Paul Bishop of St Louis, Missouri; one step sister, Christine Segal of St Louis, Missouri, and her step father, Freeman Mathis, of Perryville, Missouri; 12 grandchildren: Taylor, Kahmya, Paityn, Ayvah, Kolton, Jayden, Nick, Alex, Jerri, Christian, Jasmine, and Malachi; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, her granddaughter, Meyah, and step sister, Charlene.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will Celebrate her Life from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison, Iowa. Private burial of her cremated remains will be held Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa at a later date. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services.
