Janice Mary Judy, 75 years, of West Point, Iowa died at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born August 19, 1941 at Fort Madison, a daughter of Louis and Della (Moeller) Freesmeier. On June 25, 1961, she married James Lane Judy at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point.

She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, West Point. She was a busy farm wife and a homemaker. She also worked and retired from Motorola in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point, and was active with the Altar and Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann's Circle. She enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, quilting, and sewing. She especially loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Dan) Kempker, of Donnellson, Iowa and Diane (Jerry) Polk, of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Thomas (Molly) Judy, of Ottumwa, Iowa; one brother, Delmar (Cheryl) Freesmeier, of West Point; two sisters, Betty Becker, of West Point and Darlene Putnam, of West Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Alicia McFall, Stacy and Rachel Kempker; Lane, Lex, Lute and Lydia Judy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Brian Judy, one granddaughter, Amy Kempker; and two brothers, Walter and Howard Freesmeier.

A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point. The family will then greet friends until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, West Point, with Reverend Dennis Hoffman as Celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Point. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home or at the church on the day of the service.
