Obituary

Jeffrey Lee Madden, 70 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Monday, January 19, 2026 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa.  He was born December 12, 1955 in Clarinda, Iowa, a son of Russell Lee and Clarice Joan (VanHooser) Madden.  In 1989, he married Mary Ellen Turner Madden in Wever, Iowa.

He was a 1974 graduate of Fort Madison High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  After 17 years, he retired from Pipeline Cleaners.  He earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout and became a Scout Master.  He enjoyed model railroad trains and football.  Jeff was a great story teller.

He is survived by his son, Jeffery (Summer) Fedler, of Donnellson, Iowa; three siblings: Steve Madden, of Dallas, Texas; Mark (Peggy) Madden, of Des Moines, Iowa; Nancy (Bob) Gapen, of Mediapolis, Iowa; five grandchildren: Ashley (Jordan) Dailey, Cheyanne (Jon) Smutzer, Jeffery Fedler, Jaxton Fedler and Jameson Fedler; five great grandchildren: Ellen, Beau, Timber, Theo and Gracie; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A Celebration of Life and Burial will be held at a later date.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Madden family.
