Gerald Henry "Jerry" Wenke, 81 years, of Argyle, Iowa died Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home.  He was born August 18, 1944, a son of John and Mildred (Sandbothe) Wenke.  He married Beverly Hoenig, they had three children: Catherine, Martin, and Amy.  They later divorced.  Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Denmark High School.  He served in the Army National Guard.  He worked at DuPont for 35 years.  Jerry was also a farmer, and he enjoyed deer hunting.

He is survived by two children, Catherine (Greg) Garrels, of Burlington, Iowa and Martin (Tracie) Wenke of Argyle, Iowa; 6 siblings: Joseph (Mary Ann) Wenke, Marvin (Cyndee) Wenke, John (Evelyn) Wenke, Ted (Michelle) Wenke, Marilyn (Ray) Schinstock, and Paul (Carolyn) Wenke; one sister-in-law: Suzanne Wenke; seven grandchildren: Darian Auge, Hallie (Billie) Garrels, Reagan Garrels, Cody (Jess) Wenke, John Henry Wenke, Thomas Wenke, and Kyler Wenke; five great grandchildren: Mattie, Maleah, Marshall, Mallory, and Everleigh; numerous nieces and nephews; and the Hoenig family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Amy, and one brother Robert.

Jerry's family is celebrating his life from 1:30 to 3:30 pm Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Izaak Walton Green Bay Chapter, Fort Madison, Iowa.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Wenke family.
