John A. Chismark, 44 years, of Keokuk, Iowa and formerly of Fort Madison, died at 11:39 am Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home. He was born January 25, 1972, at Peoria, Illinois, the son of Lois Hadden. He married Melissa Nehring. They later divorced.

John was a 1990 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He work for BTR/Henniges for 18 years. He enjoyed glass etching, dragons, sci fi, and martial arts movies. He had a huge heart and was a kind person who would give you the shirt off his back.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Hadden, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Branden Chismark, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two daughters, Britney Wittich and Stephanie Chismark (fiancé Rodric Settles), all of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Betti-Jean Victory (John D. Kleinert), of Revere, Missouri; one granddaughter, Brooke Settles, one niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two daughters, Makiha and Samantha.

Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. His family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
