Catherine Jean "Kathie" McFadden, 74 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa went to join her mother on Sunday morning, November 16, 2025 at Birkwood Village, Fort Madison.  She was born May 1, 1951, a daughter of Geraldine Ann Herold.  On December 22, 1971, she married Bryan Paul McFadden.

She lived in the area most of her life, and was a 1969 graduate of Aquinas High School.  She worked as a bartender at the Moose and Eagles Club and in accounting on the Emerald Lady.   She was a manager at Dollar General and Family Dollar.  None of the places she worked were as important to her as her job of being a devoted mother and when she was promoted to nana (grandma).  Kathie touched so many lives.  She was "everyone's mom and nana."  She will be missed and never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan McFadden of Fort Madison; four children: Bryan (Melinda) McFadden Jr of Blandinsville, Illinois; Terri (Jeff) Holterhaus, Mickey McFadden, and Jodi McFadden, all of Fort Madison; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her mother, one sister-in-law Robin Glasnovichl, and one brother-in-law Jeffrey McFadden.

Her family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, her funeral service will follow and begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Reverend Tim Redd officiating.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the McFadden family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
