Keith A. "Two Dogs" Copeland Sr., 68 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 3:25 am Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home. He was born January 17, 1948 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Glen M. Sr. and Dorothy B. (Shore) Copeland. On September 4, 1976, he married Linda Rhoer in Fort Madison, Iowa.
He attended the Fort Madison High School. For 28 years, he worked in production at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, retiring in 1994 due to health reasons. He loved sports, including the Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He enjoyed working in the yard, coaching little league for 10 years and was a Native American enthusiast. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by his wife Linda Copeland, of Fort Madison, Iowa; his mother, Dorothy B. Copeland, of Donnellson, Iowa; two sons: Bill (Chris) Krogmeier, of Burlington, Iowa, Keith Copeland Jr., of Burlington, Iowa; two daughters: Rhonda Edgington, of Fort Madison, Iowa, Misty (Benny) Shackelford, of Newburgh, Indiana; extended children: Chauncey (Charity) Harrison, of Kansas City, Missouri, Roger (Christi Kentch) Newbanks, of Niota, Illinois, Bob (Debbie) Anderson, of Fort Madison, Iowa, Diana Hopp, of Fort Madison, Iowa; three brothers: Donald (Phoelicia) Copeland, of Lawton, Oklahoma, Dennis (Dorothy) Copeland, of Copperas Cove, Texas, Glenn (Antonieta "Toni") Copeland Jr., of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters: Carol (Phillip) Kempher, of Blandinsville, Illinois, Janet Stoops, of Omaha, Nebraska; 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Marvin.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Brother Bill Hauser, officiating. Following the service, his body will be cremated. Burial will be 10:00 am Monday February 29, 2016 at the Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
