Kent S. Penrod, 61 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Thursday, December 25, 2025 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Fort Madison.  He was born February 18, 1964, the son of Leroy S and Marilyn (Hocker) Penrod, and Eva Penrod.  On January 21, 1984, he married Tina Rempe.  She survives.

Kent was a 1982 graduate of Fort Madison High School.  He worked for Reilly Construction, before working at Richers Trucking as a diesel mechanic.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, bowling, mushroom hunting, playing pinball, watching NASCAR, and he was a KISS fan.  He loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Penrod of Fort Madison; his father, Leroy Penrod of Fort Madison; one son, Brad Penrod of Fort Madison; three siblings: Kenny Penrod (Mary White) and Kelly (Jody) Penrod, both of Fort Madison; and Kassie (Zach) Metzger of Jewell, Iowa; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mothers, Marilyn and Eva; and one brother, Kevin Penrod.

Friends are invited for a Celebration of Kent's Life from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Shopton Park, Fort Madison.  Friends are asked to bring a side or dessert and his family will provide the meat for hot sandwiches.  A private burial of his cremated remains will be at Charleston Cemetery.  A memorial has been established.   Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Penrod family.
