Larry V. Bye, 81, of New London, MO, and formerly of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away at 12:32 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his home in New London, MO.

Larry's Life Celebration was held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Burial with military honors will be September 14th at 11:30 at Oakland Cemetery, Soldier's Circle in Fort Madison, IA. The family will host a Life Celebration and luncheon at the Eagles Club in Fort Madison immediately following the burial.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Larry was born September 20, 1944, in Fort Madison, IA to Margaret Bye Vice. Larry was later adopted by his grandparents, William Bye and Hazel Nye Bye.

He was first married to Judy M. Rohmer on August 15, 1964. They later divorced and she preceded him in death in 2023. He later married Margaret "Margo" Ann Troja on December 24, 2005, in Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2021.

Survivors include his two children, Lavonne Fogle (Rodney) of West Burlington, IA, and Leanne Krogmeier (Brad Kelley) of Burlington, IA; two stepdaughters, Wendy Barr (Jim) of Clearwater, FL, and Karen K. Willenborg (Dr. Mike) of Highland Village, TX; son-in-law, Mark St. Clair of Hannibal, MO; four brothers, Danny Vice (Joni) of Ft. Madison, IA, Donald Vice (Wendy) of Hixom, TN, Rick Vice (Sherri) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Mark Vice (Kim) of Ft. Madison, IA; eight grandchildren, Schylar Fogle, Jarod Fogle (Gemma), Lauren Krogmeier, Caleb Krogmeier, Kelsey Pollard (Andrew), Kallie Thomas (Devon), Emily Willenborg, and Claire Willenborg; and five great grandchildren, Barrett, Genevieve, Evelyn, Averi, and Theodore. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; daughter, Jane Marie Bye; stepdaughter, Mary Ann St. Clair; and two brothers, Mike Vice, and Ronald Vice.

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Larry served during the Vietnam War where he was a jet mechanic and served aboard the USS Ticonderoga.

Larry began his working career at Iowa Ammunition in Middletown, IA. He later retired from Dial Corporation after 34 years, where he was a machinist and mechanic.

Larry was a talented woodworker, he could build a variety of pieces, and he especially enjoyed crafting furniture. Throughout his life Larry took pleasure in building and repairing, he possessed the rare ability to be able to fix anything. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was always partial to racers driving a Ford! In his younger years, Larry enjoyed playing the piano and trumpet. More than anything else, Larry loved his family and all the moments they spent together. Larry will be missed by all who loved him. Larry attended the First Christian Church in Hannibal.
