Larry Louis Carter, 62 years, of Temple, Texas died February 18, 2011 at his home in Temple, Texas. He was born January 23, 1949 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of William R. and M. Lorraine (Kalina) Carter.

He was a 1967 graduate of the Fort Madison High School. He spent the last 20 years in Temple, Texas. He worked as a media technician and also did finish carpentry work. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed music and woodworking.

He is survived by his mother, M. Lorraine Carter, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one brother, Ronald (wife Barb) Carter, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Paula Rowe, of Sperry, Iowa; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Richard Carter, one nephew, Josh Carter, and one great nephew, Bryson Clark.

His body has been cremated. Burial with military rites will be held at 10:00 am Monday June 13, 2011 at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa.
