Larry Dean Messerschmitt, 69 years, of West Point, Iowa died at 1:10 am Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa. He was born February 1, 1951, a son of Robert and Mildred (Showman) Messerschmitt. He married Loretta Gaylord. She survives.

Larry is survived by his wife, Loretta Messerschmitt of Fort Madison, Iowa, his mother, Mildred Hartson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one son Larry Messerschmitt of Cedar Rapids; one daughter Michelle (Robert) Clark of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Merlin and Marty (Angela) Messerschmitt; two sisters, Sandra (Jim) Counts and Cheryl Messerschmitt; two half-brothers, Scott (Heidi) Witham and Frank (Janelle) Witham, one half-sister Debbie (Ken) Humphries, seven grandchildren: Brittney, Anthony, Nicolas, James, Thomas, Alexa, and Kyanna; and one step mother MaryKay Messerschmitt. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Donald Messerschmitt.
