Lawrence H. Decker, 85 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born October 16, 1931 in Fort Madison, Iowa a son of Lawrence J. and Sophia (Brown) Decker. On July 13, 1956, he married Delores Mae Gulick in Burlington, Iowa.

Larry lived in the area most of his life. In 1949, he graduated from Fort Madison High School, and then served in the United States Air Force. He attended the University of Iowa. He worked as a process engineer for the IAAP, retiring after approximately 30 years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, morning coffee with friends, and tutoring at Richardson School and the library.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Decker, of Fort Madison; three sons: Gary (Ruth) Decker, of Fort Madison; Kevin (JoLynn) Decker, of Granbury, Texas; and Laury Edward Decker, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren: Michael (Brienna) Decker, Monica Decker, Elise Decker, and Corissa Decker; two great grandchildren, Garrett and Mikenna; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services. Graveside services with military rites and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Madison with Pastor Dean Graber, officiating. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
