Linda Diane Grover, 66 years, of Portland, Tennessee, formerly of Burlington, Iowa died 12:00 am May 14, 2015 at Westmoreland Care Center, Westmoreland, Tennessee. Linda was born October 3, 1948 at Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of James Philip Sr. and Ramona Mae (Cook) Lewiston. On June 16, 2003, she married Valdo Grover at Springfield, Tennessee.
She was a 1966 graduate of Central Lee High School. She graduated in 1968 from Southeastern Community College, Keokuk, Iowa and received her Bachelors at Kirksville, Missouri in 1970. She lived in the Lee County area and Burlington, Iowa for many years, before moving to Tennessee. She taught school at Yarmouth, Iowa. She was a cashier at Wal-Mart. She loved to read. She enjoyed plants, growing flowers and her garden, especially her tomato plants. She was of the Christian Faith.
She is survived by her husband, Valdo "Val" Grover of Portland, Tennessee; her mother, Ramona Lewiston, of Montrose, Iowa; three sons: Bryan Auwaerter, of Utah, Michael Auwaerter, of Iowa, Patrick Auwaerter, of West Burlington, Iowa; one step-daughter, Jeanette Jones, of Springfield, Tennessee; one step-son, Jason Grover, of Spokane, Washington; three brothers: James P. (Crystal) Lewiston, Jr., of Montrose, Iowa , Ted (China) Lewiston, of Bellevue, Nebraska, Tom (Teri) Lewiston, of Bellevue, Nebraska and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Iowa, with Pastor Daniel Lewiston officiating. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services.
