Linda D. Schrader, 67 years, of Thornton, Colorado and formerly of Montrose, Iowa died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Thornton, Colorado. She was born April 11, 1944 at Fort Madison, Iowa a daughter of Claude "Alabam" and Lena Izola (Oliver) Green. She was a graduate of Central Lee High School. She earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Southeastern Community College, West Burlington, Iowa. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She was a honors graduate studying theology at Liberty Bible Institute in Lynchburg, Virginia. She spent most of her life in the Montrose area. She was a member of the Madison Baptist Church, Fort Madison where she was active with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and was the children's church director for the church. She was also the children's church director at Oak Street Baptist Church, Burlington.
She is survived by three sons: Terry (wife Debbie) Schrader, of Donnellson, Iowa; Mike (wife Nikki) Schrader, of Keokuk, Iowa and Barry (wife Brenda) Schrader, of Donnellson, Iowa; one daughter, Stephanie Essmaker, of Thornton, Colorado; two brothers: Gordon (wife Angela) Green, of Washington, D.C. and Wayne (wife Linda) Green, of Fort Madison, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Delores Green, and one granddaughter, Wendy Schrader.
Friends may call after 1:00 pm Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, where the family will meet friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm Friday evening. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Dale Thomas. Burial will be at Everhart Cemetery, Donnellson, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
